Panera Just Dropped 2 Brand-New Sourdough Sandwiches

The previous few days have delivered a new year and two new Panera Bread selections.

The bakery-café chain introduced Bacon Avocado and Southwest Chicken Sourdough Melts this week. Both sandwiches use Panera's County Rustic

Bacon Avocado Melt: Applewood-smoked bacon, fresh avocado, smoked gouda, everything bagel seasoning,

chipotle aioli. The Southwest Chicken Melt has pulled chicken, smoked gouda, red onion, cilantro, and chipotle aioli.

Both new Sourdough Melts can be purchased alone or as part of Panera's You Pick Two dinners, like all other sandwiches. My local

Panera in central New Jersey charges $9.79 for full-sized Sourdough Melts and $6.79 for half-sizes. As usual, costs vary by area.

The two Sourdough Melts are Panera's first new offerings in 2024 and unusual additions. Panera's menu has few new and returning items last year.

Last January, Panera introduced new Toasted Baguette sandwiches for 2023. The line started with three melts: Green Goddess Caprese, Pepperoni Mozzarella,

In June, Panera introduced a Black Forest Ham & Gouda Melt, its first ham-based offering in years. Panera introduced a Deli Ham sandwich

with the same ham, emerald greens, sliced tomatoes, red onions, and country mustard on Country Rustic Sourdough the same day as the Black Forest Ham & Gouda Melt.
